If you want to offer your services as a business coach, there many areas of business that you need to familiarize yourself with. After all, if you don’t know the keys to running a successful business, how can you teach others?

As previously stated, there are many areas of running a business that new and struggling business owners need assistance with. One of those areas is business communication. Business owners need to learn to properly communicate with employees and clients. Employees need to learn how to communicate with their bosses, coworkers, and clients. It goes continuously. Proper communication is key to running a successful and profitable business.

So, what will you, as a business coach, need to teach your clients?

The best way to communicate. Technology has given us many ways to communicate with friends, family, coworkers, clients, and employees. Just a sample of the options obtainable includes letters, faxes, emails, text messages, and phone calls. Which option is best? It depends on the kind of business. Other than emergencies, all professionals should evade text messages. Instead, they should pickup the phone, send a fax, or write a well-composed email.

Communication etiquette. This is important for both communication with coworkers and clients. Some inexperienced workers and business owners do not fully understand the importance of politeness and etiquette. You need to show them. For instance, it is all right to use abbreviations in personal emails, like BRB or LOL, but never with business communications. In emails, all writers should identify themselves by name and position and address all recipients the same. It is the courteous and professional thing to do.

Tips for enhancing writing skills. Unluckily, all of our writing skills have suffered. The Internet, instant messaging programs, and text messages make it largely hard to write by hand and legibly. Your job as a business coach is to emphasize the importance of proper writing. Highlight the importance of proper spelling, grammar, proofreading, and good sentence structure.

The importance of clear communication. In business, straightforward directions and little rambling is best. You client’s customers don’t want to know about the day they are having or what the weather is like; they want to know if you can help them. A good approach is to find former letters and emails and dissect them. Show, by example, if it is good or bad and what changes can be made.

Providing both bad and good news. Business proprietors, rarely deliver only good news. For instance, a retail store may have processed an order for a client, only to later learn that item is unavailable. They must then contact that customer to tell them that their order cannot be filled. Some just say “your order cannot be filled.” Emphasize the importance of keeping that customer happy. In this situation, a formal apology, notification of when the item becomes available, and a small discount is best.

The importance of listening. Business owners and their employees should never make a client repeat him or herself. The same is true for other in-office communication. Coworkers and bosses should only need to ask someone to do a task once. Emphasize the importance of taking notes. There is less risk of errors and no having to ask someone to explain themselves again.

Non-verbal communication. A lot of business focus is placed on the word we speak or type, but communication can be non-verbal too. This includes body language, appearance, and actions. When meeting with a client, conservative apparel sends the proper message. Soft, but confident tones are best. As for body language, this is difficult. Others send signals without even realizing it. Stress the importance of monitoring your body language and learning to control impulsive actions.

These are just a few of the communication areas you will want to focus on as a business coach. Regardless of who are you working with, whether it be a business owner, paid employees, or both, all business can benefit and profit from good and proper communication.

Turning Traffic in to Adsense Traffic

If you’ve been running AdSense ads on your site for quite a while and you feel that you aren’t making as much cash as you could, in 99.99% of cases you’re right. Most people feel frustrated that they cannot generate the revenues they expected, and this is down to traffic levels as well as click through rates.

There are many ways to turn traffic into AdSense traffic and here is a short list of them with a description for each.

The first thing that you need to do is tune up your site’s contents. While for some people this isn’t an option (if you’re running a forum for example it’s a lot harder) most people can make their AdSense sites veritable cash cows.

To begin, you should find out what your site’s keywords are. This is a basic technique in SEO (search engine optimization) known as keyword density verification. A good tool for this job is SEO Density Analizer.

You should then take this list of words and search the Overture Search Inventory or Google AdWords Sandbox to find out what other words could be doing better then what you currently have.

From that point on try to keep your site focused on the things that appear mostly in the keyword suggestions you receive. Try to include those keywords, or at least some related keywords as often as you can in the links on your site.

Because of the way Google AdSense works this is a sure way to increase your earnings because you’ll get better ads in your AdSense banners, similar to how you would get a better Google PageRank

It’s also important that you continuously add new pages to your site. This is very important, as the more pages you have, the higher the chance is that you’ll get more hits on your ads.

It’s also very important that you choose the appropriate formats for your AdSense banners and the best locations for them. While this is a much wider subject you should generally know that the top three Google AdSense formats are: 336×280 large rectangle 300×250 medium rectangle and 160×600 skyscraper.

Make sure you choose the appropriate colors for the ads, as making them too different from your site’s content (or just different in a bad way) is sure to make visitors regard them as banners which have nothing to do with the site itself.

Make sure these ads are positioned where they’ll generate the highest amount of profit. Most times, that location is said to be right before the beginning of your site’s actual content.

On pages with a long text body, you might find skyscrapers to do better, simply because users get exposed to them for more time. Also, for sites with news or similar items, you might find a good position to be at the bottom of your content, because that’s when people are finished reading your story and are looking for something else to do.

You should use more AdSense units if you have a lot of text on your page. Just make sure not to overdo it because you might find that you will get a lot lower CTR and lower revenues then you were getting in the first place by employing this technique inappropriately. You can add as many as three units, so use them wisely.

There’s a Google AdSense Preview Tool that will let you visualize what ads would get served on your page and it can come in very handy as a testing mechanism.

Just make sure you respect the AdSense policy regarding click fraud. As a pointer you could place a picture next to your adds, just make sure to leave some room in between in order to make sure this isn’t regarded as encouraging visitors to click the link.

Of course there are more ways to increase AdSense traffic from your site, but these should serve as a good starting point for income maximization.

Are You Intimidated By Running An Online Business?

Are you intimidated by the thought of running an online business? Does the present economy have you worried? Is your job security making you nervous? Do you think you have a chance in today’s financial climate?

If you answered yes to any of these questions you do have what it takes to build an online business and freeing yourself from the 9-5 rat race. Matter of fact you need to be running an online business to take control of your own destiny.

Who doesn’t want to have an online business. You can work at home, set your own schedule, work on projects that you choose to work on, and make a handy income.

I remember not too long ago talking with one of my successful team members and she was telling me how running an online business has made her a better person. She went on to say that her time management, focus, communication skills, and general outlook on life is much different than it was before she had an online business.

I have to agree with her. Running an online business tests your self discipline; its a never ending education. Most people who start an online business will tell you that they have read more articles, done more research, and written more content in their first year in business than they had for the previous 5 years.

But for some people fear gets in their way. Rather than concentrating on their task and moving forward they harp on the “what ifs.” What if I fail, what if my site isn’t popular. This attitude is a recipe for failure. Their fears are their worse enemy.

Once you learn how to exploit your fears your online business will experience exponential growth. Your fears will be your businesses best asset.

It surprises me in todays economic climate that more people aren’t running an online business. Its not as difficult as some believe, its affordable, and you’d be surprised by how many people will benefit from what you know.

The problem is most people don’t know how to drive traffic to their online business. If you can’t generate sufficient traffic to your online business you won’t generate much income. This is the main reason that 98% of new businesses fail.

The process of running an online business is too confusing for some people. There are too many variables that could cause them to make costly mistakes. A lot of these mistakes are on the technological side of online businesses. You can have great content but if it doesn’t please both human visitors and the search engines your business will not be found.

A few years ago I stumbled across a solution to the technological problem. A means for you to build a successful online business with little or no knowledge of HTML, permalinks, RSS, etc.

Network Marketing Success – What You Need to Succeed, Part 2

Prerequisites for Network Marketing Success

In this article we will look at the positive motivators, and I will presuppose that you have read my previous article (‘Part 1′), which discusses the negative motivating factors. The positive factors ‘pull towards’, while the negative factors ‘push away from’. If we can get them to act in unison, it’s an ideal situation!

Lou Tice, founder of the Pacific Institute, once related the story of how he had to help a world-class Kenyan athlete to overcome a physical problem. Although this guy was Olympic material, he often developed a physical pain so bad that he had to stop running. After listening to the athlete’s story, Tice advised him to quit running altogether. You see, Tice found that the athlete could support his family with the proceeds from his wins, and that was his main motivator. Tice felt that it was simply not enough for gold medal status at the Games.

There is no such thing as a person who gets good at anything overnight. I think the media are guilty of creating the wrong impression here. They present an incorrect timeline by (inadvertently) depicting the change from loser to winner, from obscurity to stardom, in a few episodes on TV or within the duration of a single movie.

In the real world the ‘instant success’ is usually preceded by years, even decades, of practice, hardships and disappointments. This applies equally well to marketers, musicians, artists and sports stars. So, on your way to becoming that marketing ’superhero’, you are going to meet with countless distractions and disappointments. There will be days when you wonder if it’s worth all the effort, and you will consider throwing in the towel on many occasions.

So it is only logical that your reasons for pursuing a specific course of action should be so good that they are more important than any opposing forces. To be really good at anything, be that sports, art, singing, or network marketing, you have to be persistent. And for that you need an exceptionally high level of motivation, preferably of the positive kind! How do you acquire this?

To start off, you have to get yourself to a point of ‘must’. There simply should be no alternative to achieving that goal. And you create this situation by having enough magnificent ‘why’s. The more you have, and the more they pull you in the same direction, the better. What I mean by magnificence is that the end result must really resonate within you at a gut level. It must be able evoke an intense emotional response. Sweaty skin. Increased pulse rate. Dilated pupils.

Now I cannot tell you what your motivators are; you will have to do a lot of soul-searching. Draw up a ‘wish list’, and order the items with the most desirable one at the top. Then look at the ones at the top. If they evoke that magic euphoric response, if you must achieve them whatever the cost, come hell or high water, despite all odds, you are on the right track. Only 9/10? Hmm – not so good.

I would like to offer a word of advice here. In this series of articles I am focusing on issues that pertain directly or indirectly to money. Money is EXTREMELY important. But so is life, health, love, family and friends: to name but a few. The bottom line is this: you cannot have anything if it is not important to you. So if someone tries to tell you money is not important, don’t believe him – he’s broke.

Success in network marketing, and the cash flow it brings, is not the ultimate goal. It is some of the magnificent things you can do with that money. So when (not ‘if’) you become that network marketing success story, and you do break through the million-dollar-a-year ceiling – what’s your life gonna look like? Your physical surroundings? The people that you hang out with? Your boats and planes? Your appearance? The hospital in Africa you will be sponsoring? Now you need to become super-creative!
